BioCymatics app uses iphone camera to measure user’s heart rate, which then drives cymatic pattern rendering and granular sound synthesis in real time. This is a study looking for an artistic representation (for my previous heart rate app “He+ARTs”) that connects heart rate value to sound and visual in space.

In this video, two different versions of cymatic patterns are rendered on iphone and laptop, respectively. Both are driven by user’s heart rate. The laptop version of cymatic patterns receives heart rate value from iphone and is reactive to granular sound generated by iphone.
